Summer in Israel, Day 9
It has been a long, lazy day here for me. It feels much cooler, with a constant breeze carrying through the house. I haven’t left the house, except a brief walk in the garden with Schwartzkopf this morning, which doesn’t really count. I have been lazing about, enjoying a fun novel (“The Ghost of Hannah Mendes” by Naomi Ragen—a sort of love story about a Sephardic family). I feel moderately guilty for staying home all day, but after all I will be out for a while tonight, first at services where I will give a sermon (thankfully in English), and then to Shabbat dinner at the rabbi’s house.
